Nachtrag von letzet Woche. Wir hatten eine sehr interessante „design lecture“ mit dem weltbekannten Erik Spiekermann. Viel über Typografie gelernt und noch Spaß dabei gehabt.
Erik Spiekermann (*1947) – typesetter, printer, art historian, information designer, font designer and author – founded in 1979 MetaDesign, that he expanded to the largest German design office until his departure in 2001. Projects realized with Metadesign are amongst others the guidance systems for the Airport Düsseldorf and the BVG Berlin (the public transport company of Berlin) as well as CD-Programs for Audi and VW. In 1989 Spiekermann founded FontShop, globally the first online sales platform for electronic fonts. Some of his font designs, e.g. FF Meta and ITC Officina can be counted among the modern classics. For his DBType for the German national rail company Spiekermann was awarded in 2007 with the national Design Award Bundespreis Design in Gold
